A student of Kano who pioneered Judo in many countries around the world, including Brazil, becoming the teacher of the Gracie Family.

Patriarch of the Gracie Family.


 Along with his younger brother Hélio Gracie, and fellow students  Luiz França and Oswaldo Fadda, he helped develop Brazilian jiu-jitsu based on the teachings of Mitsuyo Maeda.

Patriarch of the Gracie Family.


 Together with his brothers Oswaldo, Gastao Jr, George and Carlos Gracie, he founded and developed the self-defence martial art system of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu

Considered to be the best fighter of his generation.


 Rolls Gracie was a true legend of BJJ. He was a skilled fighter, an innovative teacher, and a beloved mentor. 


His contributions to the sport are immeasurable, and his legacy lives on today through the Gracie family and the countless fighters he trained and inspired.

The son of Carlos Gracie.


Founder of the International Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Federation (IBJJF).
