Along with his younger brother Hélio Gracie, and fellow students Luiz França and Oswaldo Fadda, he helped develop Brazilian jiu-jitsu based on the teachings of Mitsuyo Maeda.

Rolls Gracie was a true legend of BJJ. He was a skilled fighter, an innovative teacher, and a beloved mentor.
